when i was in junior high i had a truly inspiring friend who taught me the importance of random acts of kindness (you know who you are). so when i saw this blog hop i knew i had to participate. it runs from today until next tuesday and i am giving away not one but TWO copies of my book, Second Kiss.
i know this book isn't new and i have had a lot of questions about the sequel. but trust me, its in the works. but my priority right now is my children and my writing is wedged between the kids' bedtime, doing housework and collapsing lifeless on the couch at the end of the day so... its a slow process.
in the mean time, i'm still getting the word out about Second Kiss and you could win a free, signed copy if you participate. here's what you need to do:
Share this site either on Facebook or Twitter through the link on the right column of this blog. (if you facebook it, please switch the thumbnail photo so it shows a picture of the book, Second Kiss.)
+1 Leave a comment about a random act of kindness someone has done for you or that you have been able to do for someone else.
Even if you choose to not do the +1 option please leave a comment letting me know you shared the site and information on how i can contact you should you win.

Thanks for participating!
I had a friend gift me a book that I fell in love with. I don't get gifted books too often. And since this was my favorite book of 2011 it was absolutely perfect!

I was at the store, buying just a soda and a snack. Before I could pay, the person behind me handed the cashier the money and she told me to have a great day. I couldn't thank her enough. Kindness really leaves a lasting impression. She inspired me to be kind whenever I can be :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway, I desperately want your book! :)

My husband performed a "random act of kindness" for me the other day by watching our newborn and 3 yr old so I could go to the movies with my sister-in-law. Love my awesome husband!

I love everyone's comments so far. So man great ideas for random acts of kindness. this past christmas an anonymous person/family left one piece of the nativity at our door every night for about a week until we had the entire nativity set. each night a different scriputre about christmas was attached to the pieces. it gave my husband and me and our kids something fun to look forward to every night that also taught us a great message. i wish i knew who did it so i could thank them. thanks to all of you for sharing my blog and doing so many acts of kindness!

I always help my friends and co-workers but what I love to do is when i'm in a drive-thru (or at carryout of a restraunt) pay for the person's meal a couple orders behind me (that way they don't know who it was me who paid for it). This has happened to me before and i thought it was just great.

I always keep some high-value coupons in my purse and give them to people in the checkout if they have an item that matches the coupon in their cart.

I want to tell you about a wonderful act of kindness that was do for me by our local Sons of the American Legion. In 2010 I found out I have bladder cancer and I have no health insurance. So they had a benefit for me to raise money to help me with the cost of going to treatments, surgeries, and prescriptions to fight my cancer. I am still in treatment and if my cancer returns I will loose my bladder. But I can live without a bladder as long as it does not spread anywhere in the body. They were so generous to me. Touch my heart and I was so overjoyed. Thank you for this wonderful giveaway.

ReplyDeleteI was going through Tim Horton's drive through and, when I reached the window to pay, the cashier told me that the person ahead of me paid for my order! I was so impressed by the kindness that I paid for the guy behind me. I hope he passed it on!
